EPD GUIDE
EPD Guide
A map of everything we publish on EPDs. Each entry points to the page that actually answers that question — a summary here, the full answer there.
Short answer
An EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) is a Type III declaration that reports a product's environmental performance across its life cycle, calculated under ISO 14025 and the applicable product category rules, and independently verified before publication. For construction products the core rule set is EN 15804+A2. An EPD project runs through a scope decision, data collection, LCA modelling, report preparation, independent verification and publication by a programme operator.

Where to start
A · Foundations: what an EPD is and what it is for
Start here if the topic is new. This group covers what an EPD is and how a declaration is read.
B · Process: how an EPD project runs
The pages you use when planning a project: the preparation side, the verification side, and the independence boundary between them.
EPD preparation
Building the LCA model, collecting data and producing a verification-ready file.
EPD verification
What the independent verifier checks, which evidence is requested and where files get sent back.
LCA consultancy
The life cycle assessment behind the EPD, including uses beyond EPD publication.
Why EPDs fail before verification
The gaps most often found in files arriving at verification.
C · Project planning: cost and schedule
Where the budget and schedule questions are answered. Neither is a single number; both are the result of several variables.
EPD cost: what drives the price
The five separate cost items, who they are paid to and what changes the total most.
How long does an EPD take?
The schedule stage by stage, the real bottleneck and the part you do not control.
EPD Project Scope Tool
A free tool showing your project's complexity, its cost and schedule drivers and its data-readiness gaps.
D · Programme operator and PCR
Where the EPD will be published and which product category rule it is calculated under — two decisions that belong at the very start.
E · Standards
The standards framework an EPD rests on. This group explains the rule texts; it does not create rules.
F · Data quality
What actually decides whether an EPD can be verified: traceability, representativeness and consistency of the data.
G · Countries and markets
Where EPD demand comes from varies by market: public procurement, green building certification or a customer specification.
EPD by country
Market by market: where demand comes from, the common programme operators and what it means for an exporter.
EPD consultancy in Türkiye
Preparation and verification for Turkish manufacturers, local support and the publication route to export markets.
EPD in procurement
How an EPD requirement is written into public procurement and what it puts on the manufacturer.
H · Free tools
No registration, not hidden behind a quote form; the calculation runs directly in your browser.
I · Adjacent regulation
Regulations confused with an EPD, or that trigger one. They are separate topics and the boundaries matter.
What is a product carbon footprint (PCF)?
The difference between a PCF and an EPD: scope, number of indicators and whether verification is required.
What is the Digital Product Passport?
Where the DPP intersects with EPD data and where it does not.
CBAM readiness
A CBAM embedded emissions declaration is not an EPD; the data partly overlaps, the rules do not.
